In becoming aware with the ever changing student of today and their dependency on technology, like Appleman suggested, we must "bridge the gap" in order to connect with them. As of late, YA (Young Adult Literature) has become a major issue, especially on the high school level. When searching for literature that incorporates technology with the social issues of today'y diverse student body, the task can become duanting as relevant subject matter and censorship concerns play a huge role. One book I have read of of late, M.T. Anderson's, Feed, seems to cover all of these aspects in an extremely entertaining novel, while at the same time, frightening in its social concerns. One assignment that can be drawn form this novel is to let students debate if they are in favor of the feed or against it, discuss the pros and cons, and then write a report that they will be presented out orally supporting their position. Below I have provided a trailer to give you insight in the subject matter of the "FEED".
